Water Intrusion from Storm

These photos show a loss that occurred due to ground or surface water intrusion – likely due to the windows which are very close the actual grade of the property.  Groundwater intrusions are a seep up method of water intrusion, requiring mitigation to take place, from the floor up.  More often than not, you need to make a “flood cut” for this exact reason.  As the photo shows, around two feet of drywall and baseboards need to be removed/mitigated in order to prevent further damages – however this can vary depending on the amount of water seepage. Dehumidifiers, air movers and other mitigation measures are imperative to allow for the formal moisture to be cleared properly, otherwise it can lead to further damages.  The reconstruction for this can be tedious but is done to allow for the baseboards to be kept and addressed appropriately.
